Should I Include My Dog in My Wedding?

I have received so many questions from brides to be whether on not their pet should be included in their big day. I say go for it! This little one above, is my dog, Boomer, in his little tuxedo.  My family has had Boomer since he was 6 months old.  He is very much apart of my family and we always include him in special events. Keep in mind that many pets may get shy or may need some training, prior to walking down the aisle.  It’s a good idea to bribe them with some treats and off they will go. 

Things may not always go smoothly when incorporating a pet in your wedding.  Some may get nervous and use the bathroom and some may bark.  Always have a bag for them with wee wee pads, food, and anything else that may keep them in check.  Also touch base with your venue.  Some venues may not allow pets and some may have pet sitters.  Looking for a sitter? Check out the NAPPS website to find a professional pet sitter near you. You may not want to deal with finding a sitter or with the possibility of your dog using the bathroom down the aisle.  Ultimately, you have to be comfortable with your decision.

In 2012, the average cost of a U.S. wedding is between $26K-$27K (honeymoon not included). While this number varies by region, season, day of the week and style, it accurately portrays what most planning couples ultimately spend for their big day. This dollar amount is a logical indication and baseline for an average 2012 wedding budget. Escort Cards are One of my Favs…

               

Escort Cards are one of my favorite things to see when I walk into a venue.  Reason: So many people are coming up with new and exciting ways to welcome their guests to their tables.  Have fun with flowers, ties, pictures, etc.  The escort cards are possibly the first thing that your guests see when they arrive.  How much fun you have with them sets the tone for the wedding and what they can expect. So don’t be afraid to have fun!
